My lost weekend Serie, oil on canvas, 2023 & 2026
„My Lost Weekend“ series begins with a personal memory: weekend breakfasts I once shared with my partner „Bernd“ I loved/am loving. Those mornings were simple and ordinary, yet they have become deeply significant to me after our time together ended.
In this series, German foods associated with those breakfasts appear sealed within packaging that depicts romantic landscapes of Germany. These packages function like containers of memory- holding fragments of moments I can no longer returen to.
My painting process reflects an attempt to hold on to memories that are gradually fading. The scribbled gestrues in oil paint are not meant to describe an image precisely, but rather to trace the emotional residue of those moments.
Behind the paintings, a wall installation resembling a barcode expands the work into space. While referencing systems of consumption, it also opens a passage into a landscape of memomery- one shaped by moments that were once as beautiful as the romantic scenes depicted on the packages. As viewers move through the installation, they are invited to encounter personal memories, emotions, and the quiet ephemerality of moments that slowly fade away.
